About Practitioner’s Guide

Practitioner’s Guide is a professional-learning and reference application designed for students aged 18+, apprentices aged 18+, graduates, early-career professionals and other people developing professional knowledge.

Depending on your version, the Application provides:

a professional Library;

workplace examples;

structured learning Paths;

saved material;

an AI Tutor;

Workplace Coach;

Exam Coach;

text interaction;

voice interaction;

narration; and

saved Tutor conversations.

Getting help

If Practitioner’s Guide is not working as expected, first check:

that you are using the latest available version;

that your device operating system is reasonably up to date;

that your internet connection is available where using AI;

that sufficient device storage is available;

that microphone or notification permissions are enabled where required; and

whether restarting the Application resolves the issue.

If the problem continues:

contact@merixa.co.uk

It is helpful to include:

Android or iOS;

device model;

operating-system version;

Practitioner’s Guide version;

feature affected;

brief description of the issue; and

steps that caused the problem.

Do not include confidential client information, passwords or unnecessary personal information.

Library

The Library contains structured professional reference material covering areas including:

accounting;

risk;

audit;

governance;

financial analysis;

ESG; and

related professional areas.

If a Library card does not display or appears incorrect, check that your Application is updated.

If you believe a Library item contains a substantive error, contact:

contact@merixa.co.uk

Please identify the card or concept and explain the suspected issue.

Paths

Paths organise related concepts into structured learning sequences.

If a Path does not continue as expected:

check the Application version;

return to the relevant Path;

confirm the current step;

restart the Application if necessary; and

try the relevant Tutor action again if AI support is required.

If the problem persists, contact support.

AI Tutor

The AI Tutor uses artificial intelligence through the OpenAI API.

The Tutor may provide:

explanations;

examples;

concept exploration;

Workplace Coach support;

Exam Coach support;

Path support; and

follow-up conversations.

AI responses are not written by a human tutor.

AI-generated material can be inaccurate, incomplete or outdated.

Always verify important information using authoritative sources.

First AI interaction

Before first use of the AI Tutor, Practitioner’s Guide should explain that:

you are interacting with AI;

your prompt and relevant context may leave the device;

OpenAI processes the AI request;

AI output can contain errors; and

sensitive information should not be submitted.

Where the platform requires permission before sharing personal information with third-party AI, that permission must be provided before the AI feature can be used.

If the AI Tutor is unavailable

AI functionality requires internet access and external AI services.

If the Tutor is unavailable:

check your connection;

restart the Application;

confirm that Practitioner’s Guide is current;

check whether your paid entitlement is active where relevant; and

try again later if the external AI service is temporarily unavailable.

Library and other locally available features may continue to function independently where supported.

AI responses can be wrong

AI systems can generate convincing answers that are nevertheless incorrect.

You should be particularly careful with:

accounting standards;

IFRS requirements;

audit requirements;

tax;

law;

examination rules;

regulatory obligations;

current professional guidance;

numerical calculations; and

jurisdiction-specific information.

Where accuracy matters, verify against the relevant authoritative source.

Reporting an AI response

If an AI response appears:

unsafe;

offensive;

inappropriate;

materially inaccurate;

deceptive; or

otherwise problematic,

use the in-app report or flag function associated with the AI response.

Where the in-app function is unavailable because of a technical problem, contact:

contact@merixa.co.uk

When reporting a response, avoid including additional personal or confidential information.

Workplace Coach

Workplace Coach is designed to help users explore professional concepts in workplace contexts.

It does not know every fact about your organisation.

Do not treat Workplace Coach as a substitute for:

employer policies;

professional review;

management approval;

legal advice;

accounting advice;

tax advice; or

regulated professional advice.

Exam Coach

Exam Coach is designed for legitimate study and preparation.

It can help with:

explaining concepts;

practising questions;

understanding errors;

building reasoning;

reviewing topics; and

improving understanding.

It must not be used to break examination or assessment rules.

Academic integrity

Before using AI for coursework, examination preparation or another assessment, check the rules set by your:

school;

university;

college;

employer;

training provider;

awarding organisation; or

professional body.

Do not use Practitioner’s Guide during an examination where AI assistance is prohibited.

Do not submit AI-generated work as entirely your own where disclosure or independent work is required.

AI and professional examinations

Practitioner’s Guide is not official examination software and is not an official product of any professional body unless expressly stated.

Merixa does not guarantee:

examination success;

syllabus completeness;

alignment with every examination session;

particular marks; or

acceptance of AI-generated answers.

Official examination rules and materials take precedence.

Saved conversations

Where you choose to save a Tutor conversation, it is designed to be saved within the Application on your device unless expressly stated otherwise.

Merixa does not maintain a central user account from which it can ordinarily restore saved conversations.

Before:

replacing a device;

resetting a device;

clearing Application storage; or

uninstalling Practitioner’s Guide,

preserve any material you need.

AI privacy

Using the AI Tutor is different from viewing a Library card.

When you submit a Tutor request, information necessary to generate the response is transmitted through the AI service.

You should not submit:

passwords;

payment credentials;

confidential client files;

sensitive employee information;

health information;

legal case files;

identification documents; or

unnecessary information about another person.

For full information, see the:

Merixa Practitioner’s Guide Privacy Policy

Voice input

If voice input is available and not working:

check microphone permission;

confirm the microphone is available to the Application;

check the internet connection where required;

check the selected language;

restart Practitioner’s Guide; and

retry the request.

Avoid speaking confidential information into the Tutor.

Narration

Practitioner’s Guide may allow supported content to be read aloud.

Narration may use temporary caching to improve speed and reduce repeated processing.

If narration does not play:

check device volume;

check silent or media settings;

confirm connectivity where required;

retry the content;

restart the Application; and

confirm you are using the current version.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are administered by the platform through which Practitioner’s Guide was purchased.

Google Play

Manage a Google Play subscription through:

Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

Uninstalling Practitioner’s Guide does not cancel the subscription.

Apple App Store

Manage an Apple subscription through:

Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions

Deleting Practitioner’s Guide does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription.

Free trials

Where a trial or introductory offer is available, the duration and conditions are shown before subscription.

An automatically renewing subscription may become paid when the trial ends unless cancelled in accordance with the store terms.

Purchase not recognised

If you have paid but paid functionality is unavailable:

confirm that you are using the store account that made the purchase;

confirm that the subscription is active;

update Practitioner’s Guide;

restart the Application; and

use any available restore-purchase or entitlement function.

If the problem continues, contact support and provide:

platform;

approximate purchase date;

Application version; and

store transaction or order reference where appropriate.

Never send your full card number or Apple/Google password.

Refunds

Purchases are normally administered by the relevant application store.

Google Play or Apple may therefore need to handle the refund through their platform process.

Nothing in this support guidance removes mandatory consumer rights.

No Merixa account

Practitioner’s Guide does not require creation of a Merixa user account.

Your Apple or Google account is maintained by the relevant platform.

This means Merixa does not normally have a central Practitioner’s Guide account containing your locally saved content.

Data deletion

Because much of the Application information is stored locally, you normally manage it through the Application or device.

This may include:

deleting saved material;

deleting saved conversations;

clearing Application storage;

managing device backups; or

uninstalling Practitioner’s Guide.

AI requests processed through OpenAI may be subject to separate temporary API retention.

See the Privacy Policy for details.

Privacy requests

For privacy questions concerning information actually held by Merixa:

contact@merixa.co.uk

Please identify your request as relating to Merixa Practitioner’s Guide.

Safety

Do not use Practitioner’s Guide to request or generate:

unlawful material;

harmful instructions;

abuse or exploitation;

academic dishonesty;

fraud;

malicious activity;

harassment;

privacy invasion; or

attempts to bypass Application or AI safeguards.

AI requests may be limited or refused for safety reasons.

Under-18 users

Practitioner’s Guide is currently intended for users aged 18 or over.

If you are under 18, you should not use the current version of Practitioner’s Guide.

Terms & Conditions

Use of Practitioner’s Guide is governed by the:

Merixa Practitioner’s Guide Terms & Conditions

These explain:

the Application licence;

AI Tutor conditions;

academic integrity;

professional limitations;

intellectual property;

subscriptions;

user responsibilities; and

mandatory consumer rights.
